Frozen in Time
An evening community parade and outdoor light event
Frozen in Time was an outdoor, illuminated community processional event supported by a programme of artist-led workshops and teacher-led learning activities in schools. The project explored themes of community cohesion and connection to place, through an imagined narrative: Father Thames, the spirit of London, has frozen a series of historical artefacts in ice to preserve them forever; discovered by chance in the present, they are thawed out to explore their stories before being gathered together and returned to the river for future generations to discover.
Output Arts produced artistic interventions, workshops and a digital animation video working with Emergency Exit Arts, supported by Southwark Council, National Lottery Awards for All and Illuminated River.
